One of our stops... to Bee Cheng Hiang to check out their prices and their loose bak kwa...
Yes... most would have headed over to Lim Chee Guan... where the queue has started... there were at least 20 people in line when we passed by...
But... imo... during CNY... their standard is about the same...
Besides... Bee Cheng Hiang always has a much shorter queue... due to the fact that there are so many outlets around the island...
Bee Cheng Hiang is currently having a promo for their loose bak kwa... S$32 per kg.... these are the bits and pieces that are trimmed off... or slightly brunt (yums)... or not aesthetically square in shape...
Since JW and I are eating it ourselves... it did not matter...
Plus... the loose pieces are like a sampler... usually consisting of the different varieties from the Bee Cheng Hiang bak kwa selection... it is the best way to get to try all the different types of bak kwa... at an economical price point...
Eat to your hearts content...
Lim Chee Guan Singapore's queue is just crazy every year. But not much of a choice. Just have to queue cos they make the best bak kwa in town.
