Here is a set of 6 Smurf story books... with illustration by the late Peyo... There are some discrepancies in the story line when compared with the TV series... but still fun to read...

I used to read one each night before bed... I believe it's complete... at least for this series...

I always luv the outfit this smurf is wearing... not sure which smurf he is supposed to be... but that big yellow bow set against the orange blazer and black trousers... luv... the turn of the century camera... luv...

Astronaut Smurf... I know... doesn't look like one because he is missing his bubble helmet... Sad

As everyone knows... Smurfs are blue and 3 apples tall... wears white trousers with a hole for their button tail... except Papa Smurf who wear red... a Phrygia hat... some additional accessory to identifies a personality...

They smurf around by skipping or walking... eats smurf berries... and are over 100 years old... except Papa Smurf who is 542...

Smurfs... about 100 of them... lives in mushroom shaded houses... in an enchanted forest which you can only find if they bring you... just ask Gargamel... their nemesis... he has been... trying and trying... to find the Smurf Village...

What do Smurfs do all day... besides their daily chores... singing and partying...

Lets smurf (talk) smurf langauge...

Smurf language is the frequent use of the word "smurf" and its derivatives in a variety of meanings...

Replace nouns and verbs in everyday conversation with "smurf"... or portion of a word...

Example...

"We are smurfing on the River Smurf"

" Great smurf... That's Smurftastic... Can I smurf along???"

" Now... smurfing in mind the ratio of  thrust to weight... "

"But Papa Smurf... I still don't smurf?"

Confused???...

My Collection of... Childhood Toys... SMURFS

All the recent smurf about Smurfs... reminded me of my childhood days... where I would wake up early on Sunday morning... to catch Smurfs on TV...

I would even record it on VCR... the predecessor of VCD/DVD... to watch it over and over again...

Created by Pierre Culliford... better known as Peyo...  Smurfs made their first appearance in a Belgium comic... also created by Peyo... “Le Journal de Spirou”... with protagonist... Johan & Peewit... the Smurfs were just secondary characters...

But the animation “The Smurfs and the Magic Flute” ... propelled these little blue creatures into the limelight...

In 1981... Hanna & Barbera... who created Tom & Jerry... The Flinstones... Yogi Bear... created the Smurf tv series for the NBC network in the US... soon the world became smurfy over smurfs...

No fewer than 256 episodes were produced...

Smurfs was very much a part of my childhood memories... I had my own little Smurf Village... proudly displaying my 100 odd smurf figurines... complete with structures... My parents indulged me completely...

But as I grew... these childhood toys were kept away...

Today... while back at my parents' place... I decided to relive this childhood luv of all things Smurfs...

After rummaging around the storeroom... I finally found... some of them... I know there are more but I was too tired and dusty to look further...

Drooling over... 3D Concert Movies... Glee Live In Concert... Super Junior Super Show 3

Luv luv luv GLEE... It's they ONLY English series that JW would watch... with me... together...

I think it's mainly due to Kurt...

I luv luv luv Super Junior even more... Siwon... Dong Hae... Ryeowook... Unnrrrhhh...

Both movies were shot during their LIVE concert runs...

Glee 3D... a concert documentary shot during their Summer 2011 tour...

Super Junior Super Show 3... which had their 1 day run here back in January... No... I didn't attend... the tickets were a tad expensive... covers the actual concert in 3D...

I sooooooooooooo.... wanna catch these 2 movies... gotta find time and people to watch it with me...

Drool... drool... drooling worthy...

Drooling over... MonoMax GWP... Fred Perry Laptop Sleeve

MonoMax... Japanese men magazine... October 2011 issue... is giving away with purchase... Fred Perry Laurel Wreath Laptop Sleeve...

The sleeve seems to be made of thin padded polyester and should fit most laptops... or can be used as a file/folder...

Which reminded me of Monomax... other Fred Perry Laurel Wreath GWP... a roll up stationary sleeve... also an October issue from last year...

Drooling over... Marie Claire HK GWP... Two Tone Clutch

Marie Claire Hong Kong... September issue... is giving away a gorgeous two tone clutch...

Very very Celine inspired... faux textured... python???  top zipper closure...  five colors to choose from... Red, Beige, White, Cream and Grey...

I especially heart the Grey...

Kinokuniya does carry Marie Claire HK... but in extremely limited... less than 10 copies... spread over 3 stores...

I don't foresee myself being able to grab a copy... Sad...

Drooling... literally... over Almond Jelly with Longan

I had some free time in the evening and decided to give JW a dessert treat...

So I made this...

Almond Jelly... made from an almond mix... very simple... just boil 1 and a half cup of water, pour in the mix, turn off the heat and stir till dissolve...

Wait for it to cool... refrigerate... add longans and serve...

I always like keep a few cans of canned fruits... instant mix... pudding... in my pantry... for such times...

Drooling... literally... over Provence Sesami Pizza

When ever I feel peckish... while shopping in ION... I would drop by Provence... basement of ION... sit down in the cosy cafe... for a cuppa and their yummy Sesami (sesame) Pizza...

Provence Bakery... a Japanese bakery... uses french baking techiques... with japanese influences... to create their selections of fresh delicious breads... their choco and cream wassant (croissant) are extremely popular...

The tomato based pizza... made of sesame brown wheat dough...... topped with tomatoes... generous amount of mozzarella cheese... is yummilicious...

It always perks me up...

At just S$4.70 for a set... comes with choice of drinks... it's both tasty and affordable...

Great alternative to fast food... don't cha think???

Whenever JW has the craving for some dessert... in the middle of the night... I would make this for him...

Naspac mango pudding with nata de coco & Marigold evaporated milk...

Simple items that keep well in your pantry for such emergencies...

Takes the stress away... Remember... Stressed is Desserts spelled backwards...

Try it... it's easy to make... just chill and serve...
